PATRICK LEE GIPSON IS TOO DANGEROUS FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Gipson admitted to engaging in profiling (5) and hitting and kicking people on the job when he was a deputy sheriff (4). He defended his co-worker throwing a woman to the ground when she started recording an incident on her phone (16).

Gipson supports banning abortion (12). His campaign is supported by extreme right-wing groups that oppose abortion even in cases of rape, incest, and life of the mother and say that pro-choice women should not be allowed to vote (13).

Gipson joined the Proud Boys and January 6th rioters to participate in a violent school board protest (16), where teachers were threatened, protesters were arrested, and fights broke out, all because of people speaking out against policies to ensure all students are included and safe at school.

Gipson has a long history of putting himself above the law. He put a company in his wife’s name (2) so he could take advantage of financial incentives for women-owned firms while double-dipping (3) with his pension, and he was accused of dodging taxes by classifying employees as contractors (17). 

Gipson has attacked virtually every diverse community group, blaming crime (8), drugs and homelessness on immigrants, saying the gay community is spreading like a virus (18), pushing anti-Semitic conspiracy theories (19), and even attacking single mothers (7) and advocating to take their children away. And, he agreed with a podcast host who said that Democrats keep “lower-class Armenians, Hispanics, the Blacks” “lazy.” 

Gipson thinks everyone should be allowed to own assault weapons (9) and high-capacity magazines like the ones used in mass shootings, and he claims that school shootings (8) - like our own Saugus High School shooting that killed two students - are a "set-up" as a way to promote gun control. He is more extreme than the gun lobby, saying that preserving gun ownership is more important than reducing crime (10) and urging people to shoot others even when it might be illegal (11).

Gipson is a strong Trump supporter who spreads conspiracy theories, like claiming the 2020 election was rigged and that the CIA instigated the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol (6). One of Gipson’s close political allies was arrested by the FBI in connection with the January 6th attack (1).
